    Detonation problem...

    Hiya...

I own a 1994 Mustang GT, with a Mac Cold Air Kit and Flowmasters on it. I have some detonation issues at wide open throttle, and at this point, I have no idea why. When I stomp on the gas, it detonates pretty badly starting at 2700-3000 RPM, but if I step on it slowly, it doesn't detonate at the same RPMs. Almost every ignition piece on the car is new..distributor, spark plugs, coil, whatever. I've checked the timing and it seems to be set correctly. I've been running 93 octane fuel through it for the last month and a half...So I have no clue at all.

    Does anyone have an answer?

    Re: Detonation problem...

I would check to make sure that the outer ring on your harmonic balancer hasn't slipped (common problem) causing you to have an incorrect timing issue.
