    5.0Resto to LRS

I am pleased to see that you are expanding your product lines and appealing to a larger market. We do NOT need another Summit or JEGS though, so I hope you guys remember your roots and those of us that have bought from you for our Fox bodied cars for years. We seem to be getting pushed aside by all of the new iron from Detroit (at least it all used to be Mustangs) and trucks? By all means, grow the customer base as it is good for the business but continue to do what you do best, making parts for the older cars available so that we can continue to enjoy them as they gracefully age.

I would also like to ask that you look into a repro product that I bet you would sell to every fox body car owner out there. It's the (&^$# vacuum line connector with 4 lines made out of brittle plastic that sits right behind the passenger side shock tower and feeds the EGR, thermactor pump valves and I think maybe the pressure regulator. These things are getting old and brittle so I have more rubber hose on mine than the original plastic stuff but if a line snaps off right at the connector I will be in real trouble. This isn't a junk yard part either, they are pretty much all broken when they yank the engine. I think it would make your best seller list quickly!

    thanks

    Re: 5.0Resto to LRS

We very much appreciate your feedback.  You must be reading our minds!  Daily we battle between staying loyal to the Mustang crowd and expanding to other models.  Often we are unable to gather opinions from customers as to whether it's Ok that we're expanding outside of the Mustang market.

    Here's the scoop:

All of us love our Mustangs.  Many of us here have more than one.  We eat, sleep, and breath these cars, and they, ultimately, put food on the table for our families.

It has been very difficult deciding what the balance should be between expanding to other models such as Chevy truck, Ford truck, and, now, Challenger, or staying loyal to just Mustangs.

Our logic on expanding to other models is this:

If we grow, we can not only serve more customers, but serve our current customers better.

It's a tight market.  Many companies who are not expanding, are regressing.  We have to continue to grow in order to spend money on things like research and manufacturing.  Most of that manufacturing directly impacts our core market - the Mustang market.

Growth also allows us flexibility in shipping charges and methods, more stable pricing, more bargaining power with our suppliers and more inventory, therefore, improving our overall service and prices.

All of these aspects are required to thrive in such a tight market.  More models mean more diverse product lines from more manufacturers, more cross-promotion, and a wider scope of what is happening, not just in the Mustang market, but across the entire automotive industry.

50resto, officially known as Latemodel Restoration Supply Inc., has had the same philosophy for 10 years.

Our intent is to be the leader in Restoration, Performance and Accessories for fox body, as well as 94-present Mustangs.

As for the other models, we want to provide customers that own these cars the same types of products and services we offer our devoted Mustang following, at competitive prices.

We don't want to be Summit or Jegs.  We want to be better.

As for that vacuum tree, we are working on it.  I need one for my 92 coupe, too!

    Thank You

Thank you very much for the personal response, it sure is nice to hear from “The Man” when communicating with a company. Keep up the great work, and I will try to wait until you bring out the vacuum connector. I tried to pre-order, pay a deposit and offered to buy at list + 10% to get the first one but they wouldn't take my order, something or another about a needing part number!

It just makes good business sense to expand your market. You always want to grow you business into something more than where it started. I think you guys are doing it right. Heck, you could start selling paperclips and i'd keep coming back! As far as Mustang restoration, I think that market is going to explode. The 79-93 Fox will be the 67-69 Camaro or the Tri Fives of my generation. They will eventually be considered "classics". You never know maybe one day we could buy new reproduction shells like they have with the Camaro and Nova. I get kinda passionate when I start talking about this. I just sometimes cant put into words but you know what I mean. You guys are heading in the right direction. Keep up the good work.
