A little write up on some new additions to my fox's interior.

My 1991 GT's interior needed a little attention so I thought I would take pictures as I went along to help those that may need it in the future.

Here's what I started with. I got some new armrest pads, shifter bezel(old one had one of the tabs broken), door lock actuator for the driver side, console trim panel so the lid will actually lock down, and of last but not least I'm going to fix the most notorious fox problem...you guessed it, the broken ashtray door.

Here's what I started with on the drivers side. The door panel clips were already broken and you can see the armrest pad ready to fall off.

I took all of that off and here's what's behind the door panel with the factory wrap still on there.

I wanted to start on the door lock actuator first but there is a rivet holding it down that I didn't have a drill to get it out with...shown here.

So I went ahead and started putting together the new armrest pads.

Driver side new compared to old.

And here it is mounted up...

Here's the passenger side still on the car.

And here is the new one mounted and back on the car.

Here's the rest of the interior as it sits right now. The shift boot is mounted to the new bezel but I haven't mounted it back because I would have to take it back off anyway when I repair the ashtray. The new console trim panel is on and it actually closes and locks now.

Got the actuator riveted in and door panel back on.

New door panel clips in position.

    And done.

All I lack now is the ashtray door. I noticed the door has faded a little and is a different color than the console so I picked up some Titanium Gray paint and I'm going to spray it all and get it matching before I put it back together.

I also put on new inner door handle bezels. Once I finish the ashtray door I will post up.

Well I got the ashtray door on and it works like a charm.

The repair kit comes with instructions on different ways to repair it, depending on what part is broken. For me it was the tab that the spring attaches to.

Here's the new brace that screws into the console and the spring attaches to.

I used a 5/64 drill bit after I lined everything up and then used a supplied screw to hold it into place. Then you put the spring into it's place on the door and it's place in the console and voila you're done.

Next pics will be after the console is painted and in the car, which should hopefully be this weekend.

Glad to see you are doing all the right stuff to it. I plan to document mine in the same way. Looks like I am going to have allot more work to do though.
