Need help I have a 1990 Mustang GT that wont start it would start fine then one day it would not. I have done a tune up with new MSD cap/rotor,9mm

FRPP plug wires and new plugs no luck it will crank till the battery goes dead but wont start it tries but when it feels like it has caught and you let the key goe it just dies. Cleaned the IAC MAF still no luck Would  adieing alternator or TFI module be causing my problem. Also it has a 190 LPH pump

and K/N panel filter  other wise bone stock             Thanks for any help

Theres several variables that could be causing it. First off, I would make sure you are getting fuel and you can hear the pump. If that is in check, i'd make sure your getting spark and also double check your timing. Honestly, it sounds like your timing is knocked way off especially if it acts like its about to kick off and then doesnt. Its hard to say without actually looking at the car. The other thing to double check to be to make sure your wires are going to the right plugs in the firing order. If that was accidentally changed, it would cause similar symptoms. An alternator swap wouldnt create issues like this as that is something that would effect your charging while the car is running. Check those basic things first and if all of that is in check, let us know and we can start pinning down to more specific things. You might need to consult a mechanic that  can get there hands on it though as its tough to speculate over the web. -Karson

First of all thanks for the input apparently the timing jumped due to the chain stretched it had 114,000 miles

on it. New timing gears/chain so I hope it will now fire up.
