    Headers not aligning right

i unbolted my headers a couple of weeks ago to change a blown gasket and now my mac equal lengths wont align straight with the heads. i have been running with out three bolts between both sides now and was wondering if stud bolts would work better. I figure screwing the stud in first and then just poping in the headers and tighten them up. will this work???

    Re: Headers not aligning right

Without seeing what is causing the issue it is going to be hard for me to pinpoint what is causing the problem.  You first need to find out why the headers are not lining up... If you can't get the bolts to go in now you still may have the same issue with the studs.  I you can get some pictures to me or explain to me more of how you are trying to install them maybe I can better help you out.  You can contact me on my direct line 254-296-6553 or toll free ext. 6553.  Also feel free to email at jeff.jimenez@latemodelrestoration.com

    Re: Headers not aligning right

sorry, i have a some mac headers with individual tubes and im im pretty sure they warped with heat and time. I know this a problem with some headers that dont have that single flange to keep them togther. I know the headers are just a bit dropped but when i muscle them into place its hard to tighten the bolt at the same time, i have used a small belt so a friend could lift it while i tighten but for some reason the bolts wont go in. Without the headers all the bolt screw in with out a problem.

    Re: Headers not aligning right

You may want to compare them to the factory ones if you still have them.  If they are bent/warped you will need to look into finding a way to bend these back into shape if they are not warped to bad. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 254-296-6553
