    Wheels and Springs

I've got a 1993 Mustang 5.0 and Im looking into gettin some wheels (17x8 Saleen SC style) and a set of lowering spring (Eibach Pro-Kit) and i was just wondering about the clearance and ride quality. If anyone has these springs with aftermarket wheels just please let me know how they ride and how they helped the handling and if they have any clearance issues.

    Thanks.

The Eibach Pro Kit will enhance your your handling and improve the looks of your '93. You shouldnt have any clearance issues with running the 17x8 SC wheels all around. You could even run 17x8's in the front with 255 tires and 17x9's with 275's on the rear if you wanted a more meaty stance.

    Re: Wheels and Quad Shocks

I have a 1992 GT mustang and I am planing on buying some 4-lug wheels, 17' '9 for the front and 17'10 for the back. I was told that I would have to remove the quad shocks from the back, if so,  what tires would you recommend and what are the pros and cons for removing the quad shocks? will it make any differance removing it?

    Re: Wheels and Quad Shocks

When running a 17x10 or 17x10.5 in the rear of your 1992 GT, you will have to remove the quad shocks and possibly roll the inner fender lip. The main purpose of the factory quad shocks was to dampen axle vibration/rotation. Most people end up removing the quad shocks in favor of a lower control arm setup. Most all our wheel & tire kits with 17x10.5 rear wheels come with 315/35/17 tires.

    Re: Wheels and Quad Shocks

So, where do I purchase a lower control arm setup what odes rolling the inner fender mean?, I'm sorry for asking so many questions it just that this is my first mustang and I don't know anything about different modifications. All I know is that the deep dish wheel (17x10 or 17x10.5) looks betted on the back.

    Re: Wheels and Quad Shocks

Unfortunately there is no real "easy" way to roll your inner fender to make space for wider tires/rims and unless you know what you are doing, you could possibly damage the rear 1/4 panel or inner fender. If this is your first Mustang and you are wanting the dish look for the rear, I would suggest possibly going with a set of our 17" Saleen SC Wheels. They have a slight dish and look killer on any fox body. You could also go with a slightly smaller tire in the rear to help with any clearance issues. Check out this recent blog about SC Wheels on a fox body for more info and similar answers to your questions!

You can remove your quad shocks in favor of our rear control arm kits which will increase the performance of  your stock suspension and give you more grip.

    Re: Wheels & Tires

I've got a few leaky/scratched stock Pony rims and am looking to upgrade to the 93 Cobra 4-lug replicas with 255/40/17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT tires in the Spring.  Are there any clearance issues with the stock brakes or suspension?  How about with the Eibach Pro Kit installed?  Also, what kind of brake upgrade would work with this combination and a rear-disc conversion?

     Thanks for the info!
