2015 Ford Mustang

Up until now we’ve been referring to the next generation Mustang as a 2014 model, but our inside sources now tell us that the all-new pony car will actually debut as a 2015 model, with a refreshed Mustang coming in 2013 to fill the gap. This timeline will make the next generation Mustang more inline with the car’s true 50th anniversary, as it will go on sale in the Spring of 2014, the same time the 1964 1/2 model hit showroom floors.

Up until now we’ve been referring to the nex

Details are still coming through about what to expect from the 2015 Mustang, but Ford’s design chief J Mays has promised that it won’t simply be an updated version of the current S197 platform. “We can’t simply do an evolution of the 2005, 2010 cars,” he said at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. It is widely believed that the next generation Mustang will be based on an new smaller, global platform using an independent rear suspension and will be sold in more parts of the world including the UK, Japan and Australia. The styling will have global input as well, with Ford’s studios around the world bringing designs to the table.

We can only speculate about the 2013 Mustang as well, although there are plenty of details floating around. The 2013 Shelby GT500 is rumored to get an upgrade to more than 620 horsepower, and could even receive a twin-turbo setup to replace the suprecharger system. A new 2013 Cobra Jet is also in the works, and a redesigned 2013 Boss 302 will also be produced with styling resembling the 1970 model.

Overall, it looks like Mustang fans will have plenty to look forward to in the next few years.

I'd like to see the independent rear (engineered from the ground up, not crammed in like the new edge Cobras), a more tweaked version of the current 5.0 coyote, and an option for the V6 ecoboost motor.

Why would they go with a european look? The style now is okay, but the rear end is disgusting. In my opinion, the 2005-2009 models were the best they made because they went for the retro look- yeah they didnt have as much power, but if you have the money you can boost the performance of the car pretty significantly! And from the looks of this picture, they are gonna get rid of the rear quarter window again which will definetly be a turn-off. and the new 2013 Boss is a lie because it is its own production that was only held for the 2012 model- unless they extended the model production to 2 years instead of one. and who wants an ecoboost motor in a mustang, the new V6 is sufficent enough as it is, why take away its pride? Just because you can put and ecoboost engine in a Mustang, doesnt mean you should!

I've read on a few Mustang web sites including Muscularmustangs.com that the 2013 Mustang will have the Shelby front nose clip.  That could be part of the  refreshment it will be getting.

MUSTANG! I'm also looking forward to more performance upgrades and options! This is what us Mustang owners, since such a huge percentage of Mustang owners go to shops and stuff to get this stuff done any ways. Give us lower grears, beefier handling packages, and engine stuff/tuning to gain a few hp/tqe. heck I would order my stang with a Radio and A/C delete option if I could.

Looking forward to the future of Ford and the Mustang. (:

I know its a concept but i cant find anything appealing on that entire car. Strangely it looks like a ferrari california blended up with a mustang and a camaro. The look of the 2010-2012 body in my opinion is the best and meanest looking that they have come up with so far. I have a feeling ford is going to try to do something new like this and its going to come out all wrong. The mustang at the moment is perfect, don't fix something thats not broken just because its turning 50 years old.

Well the quarter looks a wee bit round for a Mustang but hey I can handle change.  And I totally see the Giugiaro styling from the Italian concept but I cannot live with the Mitsubishi grill / front facia.  And has anyone seen this car's side scoops?  They seem to be missing.  I do like the current GT500 wheels on it, they're nice.

I agree with the other guys. Appears from the picture some body lines look really close to the Camaro. Can't pass judgement yet as I don't know what the tail end treatment will show. I own a 2011 GT and I am not thrilled with the ass end look. From the picture the rear window looks high so rear view vision could suffer as well as side visibilty at the B pillar. It's late 2011 and Ford already has these cars close to production if not in production. I really like the wheels. Time will tell. Ford has a decent product hope they don't screw it up.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS NEW STYLE AT ALL, THE DESIGN IS TOO MUCH LIKE THE GM MANUAFACTURE PUT OUT FOR THE CAMARO AS OPINIONATED BEFORE. I CURRENTLY DRIVE A 2006 FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM AND IT FEELS GREAT KNOWING THAT I DRIVE A CAR THAT APPARENTLY ALOT OF PEOPLE LIKE. I GET ALOT OF COMPLIMENTS FROM PEOPLE EVEN THOUGH ITS ALREADY AN OLD DESIGN PEOPLE HAVE SAID THE 2005 TO 2009 IS MOST FAVORABLE BY THE PUBLIC AND I AGREE AND THIS IS WHY I DRIVE ONE, BECAUSE ITS NICE, GRABS ATTENTION AND I LIKE IT.

unless they make a 2 seat sports car no need for the independant suspension have to avoid rounding off corners on front and ass end.stick with what ghot you there in the first place muscle and aggressive style.reduce costs by offering better high preformance options at the factory.

I think that every manufacturer puts out body styles that we wont like. I own a 97 and not to fond of the body style but the performance of the mustang will always hold true to its name. All I do is look forward to the next body syle that they have in store after this model.  Ford I have learned is full of surprises and they will always blow their competition away. Even though the new 2014 body style looks like a camaro, its still going to sell better.
