2011 Mid-America Ford and Team Shelby Nationals June 15-19th

Share |

In a little over a week a few of us will be headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 37th Annual Mid-America Ford and Team Shelby Nationals!   Every year this event comes up and we always try and promote anyone with a Ford power vehicle to make it out. It is a great chance to get some open track time at Hallet Motor Racing Circuit, and also a chance to go down the strip at Tulsa Raceway Park. If you have a chance to make it to this event, it is well worth it. There is not only the track events but also a HUGE police escort cruise with hundreds of Mustangs, Shelbys and other Ford powered vehicles on Thursday night and also a car show on Sunday to with all the vendors on display and rows and rows of Mustangs to look at!

Here is an aerial look at the Hallet Motor Racing Circuit, this is where we will be spending most of our time testing our our new builds and letting some our employees fly around the track in their own Mustangs!

We try to make this event just every year to get out and enjoy some track time with other Mustang enthusiasts. This year is going to be special for us as we have finished up two of our most recent project cars to take along and test on the track! First up is, President Shannon Guderian's 2011 Mustang RTR. We have done a full build on this Mustang to make it an on-track machine! Check out our Ultimate 2011 Mustang 5.0L Gt Track and Street Build-Up Blog for some more info. This is one Mustang we are very excited to bring out to Hallet and get some good track times with!

We will also have my new 2011 Mustang V6, our newly finished Project: Six Appeal, out for its first time on track. This has been the latest of our project builds and everyone is anxious to see what the new V6 Mustang platform can do! Check out more information about our build up on our Project: Six Appeal Blogs as we transform our base model 2011 Mustang V6 into a serious on track contender!

In all we will have 5 Mustangs in attendance at the event. Next up on the list would be one of our R&D guys, Jonathan McDonald, who will be sporting his 1993 SSP Mustang Coupe with a 01 Cobra Motor Swap. This car has seen its time on track and definitely makes its claim as a great open track Mustang. Fully caged and harnessed up, this will be one Mustang you will see some awesome on track video from!

Once of the fastest Mustangs we are bringing out is salesman Tony Messina's 2004 Mustang Cobra with a Whipple Supercharger strapped on top. This is a beautiful and very fast Mustang that is sure to make a presence on the track. Putting down over 600 RWHP, this cars screams and will definitely be eating up some competition!

And last but not least, we have salesman Lee Cox's 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0L Coupe. This Mustang Notch has seen its way around Hallet before and is ready for some more track action. With just a few mild modifications, the coupe may not look like much but it is an absolute blast on the track! We can't wait to get some more great on track pics of this Mustang! Check out this on track pic from last year...

As you can see we have a pretty good line of Mustangs headed out this year and we can't wait! If you have the ability to get out to the track, even to just watch some races, we highly recommend it! We will also be following up this blog with another with racing video clips and some high def pictures on and off the track along with highlights from the car show and other events taking place. Happy racing and stay tuned for our follow up blog of the Mid-America Ford and Team Shelby Nationals of 2011!!

is there anyway you guys could get a pair of the anthracite 10th anniversary wheels in 17x9 and bring them to the event since they don't ship till the week after. I finally got some spare money for the ole' stang and they were out of stock. If you could help one of the staff out that would be great but if not I'll just get some other wheels.

Thanks

About jmartin

Been working on Mustangs since I was 16, love every shape and form they come in. Ive owned all kinds of Mustangs from a Blown 90 GT up to a Road Race 2010 GT and just recently picked up a 2011 Mustang V6 to work some magic on.
