The Flowmaster Classic 2-chamber "suitcase" muffler is the one responsible for starting the "signature sound" revolution back in the day.  Luckily, we get to relive those adrenaline filled glory days with the introduction of the latest 5.0L iteration from Ford.  The 2011 Mustang GT is the pinnacle of the affordable performance car market.  Too bad it doesn't sound like it in factory trim.

Eddy in our R&D department & his wife recently became the proud owners of  a Sterling Grey 2011 Mustang GT with the 6-speed manual.  While the first mod to the car was an RTR Wheel & Tire Kit, a Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust followed within minutes of tightening the lug nuts.  The Exhaust Kit includes a nice set of instructions, & we covered the details in our 2011 Hushpower Install Blog, so I won't bore you with those details again.  It took Eddy & I literally tens of minutes to get these mufflers in place & go for a test drive.

The American Thunder Axle Back gives an amazing tone to the 2011 Mustang 5.0L & suprisingly does not drone too terribly bad at cruising speeds either.  You can still easily carry on a conversation in the car & still hear the radio just fine without turning the volume up.  The fit & finish are excellent, but what else would you expect from Flowmaster?  No cutting & welding of your factory tubing, just a simple bolt on.  Plus, the monster 4" polished tips really fill out the rear valance openings for a very aggressive look.
