Looks like a Ram Air set up would do wonders for this kit.

HELLO. I HAVE A 1989 MUSTANG GT, FOX BODY STYLE. I HAD MY MOTOR REBUILT ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO. I WAS TOLD IT WAS BORED OUT AT 30 OVER, BUT I DONT HAVE THE POWER THAT I HAD BEFORE. MY CAR AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 3 HOURS, JUST CUT OFF WITH A STRONG BAD GAS SMELL, AND TAKE FOR IT TO COOL OFF BEFORE CRANKING UP. IT WOULD TURN OVER BUT WANT CRANK. I LIVE IN MEMPHIS AND I WANT TO HAVE MY MOTOR REBUIT RIGHT THIS TIME. I USE 93 OCTANE GAS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU CAN TELL ME WHO IN MEMPHIS CAN DO IT RIGHT.

you have an ignition problem

SEAN L. HARDIN - Befor jumping in to another engine rebuild that may not be needed, check the basics.  TPS voltage, base ignition timing, fuel pressure, compression, etc.  If you do not feel that you can complete this work yourself, talk with some of your local 'stang buddies & see what shops they recommend in the area.

Curious on safe boost levels.  I know the LSx guys have had success with boosting their high comp motors but with typically no more than PSI (at least in my neck of the woods)  We are traveling into uncharted territory with this new motor.  Hate to experiment on new customer cars.  Its like '96 and '05 all over again.  :)

C'mon guys.  Lets keep it on topic & civil.  The 2011 5.0L Vortech kit does look awesome & we are all eagerly awaiting HP/TQ #s as well as boost levels & pricing!

Looks like a clean setup, wonder how the new 5.0L will take the boost.

According to Vortech, it's doing well.  Still waiting on psi #s & power #s though!

I had the Original 69' Boss 302 with the cross drilled billet steel crank. What an RPM maker. The rev limiter was set @ 8,000 RPM. It would Buzz to 10K. What a ride..

That's one sharp 90 deg bend in front of the blower. Too bad engine bays are becoming tighter on room.

i think that is looks BEAUTIFUL and would kill for that set-up.

BTW... Jeremy, I have a 89 LX, a 90 GT, and a 92 LX that im planning on dumping one of these New 5.0 along with a V-3 s/c into one of them, they are worth every penny!

sean, i agree with abed, u have an ignition problem. sounds like a tfi module, try replacing it , only costs $30 from LRS. (sorry guys 4 going off topic again)
