The new Mustang's styling change in 2010 was a hit, short of a seemingly funky rear treatment. If you ever hear a complaint about the 2010 or 2011 Mustang's styling, it's the rear end. The short 2011 Mustang GT spoiler and protruding rear bumper seem to favor a 350z over the 2005-2009 S197 Mustang.
To square up the rear of my 2011 Mustang GT 5.0, I looked to 3d Carbon, and their 3d500 spoiler for the 2010-11 Mustang. The 3d500 spoiler shares the same styling characteristics as the GT500 wing. The GT500 spoiler, and its 3d Carbon variant, is slightly more aggressive than the factory Mustang GT or Mustang V6 spoiler. It extends almost to the edge of the bumper. The extra overhang of the rear spoiler virtually eliminates that bubble-butt appearance of the factory rear fascia.
3d Carbon includes detailed instructions for paint, prep and installation of the 3d500 spoiler. Installation was a snap, and the results are dramatic. Finished in my Mustang's Race Red hue, with semi-flat black accented flap, the spoiler looks awesome! At $189 plus paint work, a 3d500 rear wing is a worthwhile investment for improving the Camaro's view of your Mustang.
