Video: Falken Tire Chooses SVE Wheels For It's 2011 Mustang 5.0 Test Car

Share |

Back in March, Brad blogged about how Falken Tire chose SVE Wheels for its 2011 Mustang test car. Yesterday they posted a video of the results of that test where they discovered that upgrading to the RT615K over the old RT615 gained them a full second per lap on the road course.

The video showcased the improvements Falken has made to its line of street legal competition tires, the only thing I would have done differently is to throw a set of lowering springs on the Mustang before the test began. From the factory, Mustangs have a stance that looks to be more suited for the Baja 1000 than road racing, but I guess they have to please the majority of daily drivers first. We enthusiasts will just have to keep installing lowering springs, as always. :)

Just so you don't have to use your imagination here is what their Mustang would have looked like with lowering springs. This 2010 GT belongs to Justin in sales and has 18" deep-dish anthracite SVE Anniversary wheels installed along with an Eibach Pro-Kit.

Regardless, thanks a lot to Falken for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your testing.

Now, if I can just stop drooling over the 5.0. oghgpghggahahooh....

Will 18" SVE wheels fit 2011 brembo brakes?

They will.  The Falken car has Brembos, and I ran a set on mine when I went road racing, and my car has Brembos.

About nate

My name is Nathan and I am a C# developer by trade. My favorite movies are A Clockwork Orange and Fight Club, my favorite TV shows are Arrested Development and The Office. I also enjoy motocross and supercross. I am happily married and have two little girls. I became an auto enthusiast at age 16 when I purchased a 1988 GMC C1500 long bed, it was two-tone blue and ugly as sin. But it had a 350 and I flogged on it regularly. It's been all down hill from there. My current project is an 89 Chevy C1500 short bed.
