The details are out and it has been officially "leaked" that Ford is stepping up to the plate and will be offering the new 2011 Mustang GT with the much anticipated return of the 5.0L! This new modular "Coyote" 5.0L V8 will feature an aluminum block and cylinder heads and an impressive 412hp and 390 ft/lbs of torque! It is also rumored to still maintain a 25mpg highway fuel rating. At just 14 horsepower shy of the Camaro SS, the 2011 Mustang GT is sure to be a serious contender in the 400+hp sports car market next fall. This will also be the first production GT model to receive a 32V motor and Ford’s latest and twin independent variable valve timing. Tuned exhaust headers, a forged-steel crankshaft, plus high-performance pistons and connecting rods will also come as standard. Customers will also be able to pick from a new 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

The rest of the details are sure to come out of the Detroit Auto Show next month, but as Mustang enthusiasts, we are very excited at 5.0L badge returning to the Mustang.
