If you have already pre-registered for our 10th anniversary celebration on November 14th, thanks for your participation. If not, time is running out and pre-registration ends November 1st!
If you have pre-registered and are going to race your car, there are a few rules that you need to know that are pretty standard for taking your car or truck down a track at just about any dragstrip in the country.
NHRA tech rules will be followed. We've provided a quick reference chart to help you figure out what you'll need to pass tech. Take a look at the chart. Make sure you make note of these few things:
If your vehicle is quicker than a 14.00 quarter mile, then you are required to have a helmet. We will not provide you with one so bring your own or borrow from someone else. Also, wear long pants, and closed-toed shoes, no shorts or flip flops. Make sure that you have a battery hold down in place. Check for leaks and check your hoses on your car, please don't drip fluids all over the track! Fluid leaks can prevent your fellow participants from having thier fun.
Here is a table of common SFI requirements and ratings for vehicles that run quicker than a 14.00 1/4 mile.

A couple of suggestions to those who havent raced at a track before-
A linelock is well worth the investment, it makes the burnouts much smoother and is easier on the car.
Try to courtesy stage, that is light one staging bulb then let the other racer light one before you light the second.
If you are running on street tires, it is usually better to drive around the water box.
Do not run the a/c or defroster in the staging lanes- it will drip on the track.
Do not race in flip-flops or sandals.
If you break something, do not drive all the way down to the end of the track, stop where you are at and check it out. You dont want to leave fluid all down the track.
The most important thing is if you lose traction or start to spin after the first 60', just let off and do not get back into the throttle. Just about every wreck you see at a track is due to this. Once you let out, do not floor it again. It is better to have a bad pass than a wrecked car.
