18" SVE Wheels - Part 4 - First Look w/ Pics

Share |

Part 1 - 18" SVE Wheels?
Part 2 - 18" SVE Wheels - Renderings and Molds
Part 3 - 18" SVE Wheels - Available For Pre-Order
Part 4 - 18" SVE Wheels - First Look w/ Pics

Today we received a test set of 18" SVE Anniversary wheels to inspect and check fitment. The set we received were for an 05+ Mustang so we elected Jarrod's car to try them out. We still expect for the full shipment of these wheels to arrive in August but we hope that these pictures will tide you over until then.

If you are interested in pre-ordering a set check out my pre-order blog for full listings of the individual wheels plus wheel and tire kits.

Wheel Weights:
18x9 = 27lbs
18x9 w/ 255/45/18 tire = 55lbs

18x10 = 25lbs
18x10 w/ 275/40/18 = 57lbs

As requested the 18" version of this wheels has a lot less lip than the 17" version

Jarrod's car has the Eibach Sportline springs installed on it [EIB-410135], which is one of the most drastic lowering kits that we offer for the 05-up Mustang, but even with that kit clearance wasn't an issue.

Here is a shot of the brake clearance on the front wheel as you can see there is over an inch and a quarter of clearance between the wheel face and the stock brake caliper.

There is also about an inch of clearance from the caliper to the rim itself.

The back wheels clear the factory calipers easily but don't offer as much clearance as the fronts.

Here you can see the side profile matches almost perfectly with the body lines of the car.

Would the 18" version clear the Brembos on a GT500?  The front clearance looks pretty close...

Hey Nate, the 96-04 wheels will look a little different than the 05+ wheels because of their lower offset right? Thus, can we expect a little bigger lip on the rear 96-04 wheels?

nate said:

@Sil80sx - Maybe a little bit, nothing major I would suspect.

I like these wheels alot. I have an 08 gt are their senors for the TPMS on the rims already? Thanks

edavis said:

Greg- There are 2 ways you can do this. would you be getting a wheel and tire kit?

Either way you have to replace the bands out part number is DIR-98083K but you would have to reuse your sensors that kit runs 59.99 or if you just want to get a new set of sensors and bands we can do that when we do the install and that kits is DIR-980836K 319.99. Hope this helps.
