1995 Rio Red GTS with Bronze SVE Wheels

Share |

Just as soon as we got them in, we were able to mount up our Bronze SVE Wheel & Tire Kit (WTK-1007ABG) on Karson's 1995 Rio Red GTS. This kit includes 17x9 bronze wheels mounted on Sumitomo HTRZ III  275/40/17 tires for the front, and 17x10.5's in the rear mounted on 315/35/17 Sumitomo tires. This kit will fit 1994-04 Mustangs.

I guess you could go with a smaller front tire but it's going to be shorter than the rear.

On that note with it being a 17x9'' if you go to something like a 255/40/17 it's going to look narrow on that wheel. I would stay with the 275/40/17

@Bradboski - I think it's just the fact that they are 17's. With wheels sizes getting bigger every year, 17's just don't look as big as they once did.

Also, with the lipped style wheels like these, the actual wheel design is pushed in a little inside the lip making the wheel seem slightly smaller...but it still looks MEATY  =) Especially on lowered vehicles.

Karson, any problems with the 275's rubbing on sharp turns ? Did you have to remove the Quad shocks to fit the 315's out back ? I am thinking hard on the chrome, but with my '95 GT having intrax lowering coils, was a little worried about the fit. Do you think LRS can swap the front 275's for 245's on the front ? I love the look of the 315's out back though, they should reduce the wet road ass wiggle too.

Hey Sterling,

You can fit the 275's no problem. I dont have any rubbing issues up front at all. These cars should have had 275's up front stock. We can put the 245's on there if you wish but the 315 size tire out back is only made in the htrz and that particular style tire is not offered in a 245 so you would have to mix match tires a bit. Furthermore, I think you would be disappointed with how stretched those tires would appear on the 9's on a 94 up car. Its not bad on a fox body, but theres alot more room to play with on these 94 up cars.

As for the rear, I still run my quad shocks but I will say there is about a fingers thickness between them and my sidewall. I have pushed the car quite a bit through turns and what not and haven't had any rubbing issues, but every car is a bit different so you might encounter slight rubbing. In the case that you do, you  can always take and put the quad shock on backwards where the shaft portion is whats closest to the tire and that gives you a bit more clearence. You are right though, the traction is much much better with this setup. -Karson

2 quick questions, with the way the lip is are these reverse mount rims and 2 do you think the bronze rims would look good on a black 1997 cobra =D

nate said:

@USNMA - The 10.5's are reverse mount, but the rest are not. And yes, I think the bronze would look pretty sweet on a black car!
