Layaway is only for stores like Kmart, right?  Not anymore!  Latemodel Restoration Supply is excited to announce our very own layaway plan.  Listed below are the Terms, Conditions, & FAQ regarding this new plan.

General Policies:

1.     Maximum length of layaway plan is 6 months.  All layaways must be paid in full or canceled within 6 months - no exceptions.  If layaway is not paid in full within six months the customer will be contacted and the layaway will be canceled if payment can not be paid in full.  Layaway termination policies will apply (see #3).
2.     To start the layaway customer is required to pay 10% of the order total as a down payment.
3.     If layaway is terminated there will be a 10% cancellation fee based on amount paid as of layaway termination date.
4.     Layaway payment can be made via cash, money order, cashiers check or credit/debit card.
5.     Layaways will be subject to back order and special order policies set forth by Latemodel Restoration Supply.
6.     If we are unable to ship your order within 7-10 business days due to parts availability, we will contact you with an alternate item or allow cancellation  without penalty.

I usually shop through Summit just because I have a Summit card. Now that you guys have lay-away and many parts that Summit does not have.....I think I have found the gold at the end of the rainbow.

it is a nice idea, but to be honest your not holding the parts, so in essence its a savings account basically with you; not my bank lol.....id rather keep the money in my savings account collecting interest.

Hey Mike, thanks for the comment. Some of our customers may not be as disciplined as you are and need a little "help" by having us hold their money or in some cases, keep money from spouses! While we are not physically setting parts aside for each person taking advantage of this program, we do keep a very large inventory here in our warehouse/showroom as well as the ability to ship straight from the manufacturers warehouses if need be. We will also be monitoring all orders in this program to determine if inventory levels need to be adjusted to ensure a smooth transition as your Layaway is paid off.

Layaway is a great new feature for people like me that find it difficult to save up for higher dollar items. I just wish you had the layaway set up online! Oh well I'll use the phone when I get home from work. Maybe in the future for online huh?

Will i be able to view online how much balance is left on a Lay away purchase? Or do i have to call customer service to get the balance?

Also is there a limit on price of an item? Example, if i wanted to put a set of heads on lay away and they were worth 1400$, is there a limit we can not surpass?

jmac said:

m.verd, at this time you will need to contact a sales rep to obtain order balance, & there is no maximum order limit.

alex88, there is a 10% cancellation fee as outlined in policy #3.  For example, if you had paid $100 on your account & then canceled the order, we would charge a 10% ($10) cancellation fee.

Is it possible to set something up like AmericanMusical.com? They have a system where you still receive your items as if you purchased them with the full amount, but you get set up on either a 3 or 5 payment plan. They get your checking/savings information and then automatically draft the set payment every month. Layaway is a good idea, but I love their payment plan system.

Awesome idea! I'm thinking about getting a supercharger now using layaway. Only thing is, I wish you had an option to put any amount down. I have a good amount of money saved up now so would like to put more down now, then have lower monthly payments.  Wish there was a way to set that up online. As it is now the first payment has to be the same as every month that follows. Lets say for the supercharger... I'd like to put 800-1000 down then continue with payments. That would be a great feature to add, one I thought it would have till I tried adding the s/c to my basket and playing with the layaway feature. Either way, LRS kicks ass!
