The New Knight Rider

Share |

I am kinda surprised the Knight Rider is being revived. However, I am glad they decided to use the right car this time. I saw the two hour movie and it seemed to have a pretty good plot. The main car is pretty sharp but what it changes into to go fast is a little to " Fast and Furious" for my taste. The fact that the car changes period is a little rediculous but that's TV for you. I just wonder how many mustangs they are going to mess up to make the show. Her are some pics, you decide.

Before Speed!

After speed!

What do you guys think?

A flashback indeed, C'mon, no pics of the ORIGINAL 1982+ Firebird(?) Knight Rider? Devon would be rolling over in his grave! Ha, ha. I didn't see the show but I'm sure that it will meet the same fate as other past, failed attempts such as Viper, Bandit, Street Hawk, etc, when a car show comes out and becomes somewhat popular, then everyone tries to mimic it. You can tell that the writers were on strike when someone thought, "Hey, let's remake Knight Rider!" (and it sounded like a good idea).

Enough of my rant, back to the car. I do like the "regular" car much better, but why couldn't they base it off of the regular GT Mustang instead of the most expensive Mustangs ever built? It seems that if it was a GT it would be easier for people to build their own Knight 2000 or whatever it is called. Maybe NBC has exclusive rights to an APC Knight Rider body kit that will hit the market soon. I just can't see spending $10 to get my kids picture in a remake of that car at the local Autorama in 5 years. If the show is still around. :^)

Hey isn't Deal or No Deal on, or maybe a rerun of Pinks?...........

I think the kids and teenagers will like the show. It may help turn them on to the Stang scene.  I watched it and it was not bad. I like the first car as well, before it changes.

The car is nice but it's not knight rider . It's kind of like trying to make the General Lee out of a chevelle. Some things shouldn't be messed with

The show "Night Rider" was lame the 80s when I was in high school.  Now they've made a recycled version of it and wasted the Ford Mustang's good name on it.

I don't think this car ,given its use, or show will turn anyone on to Mustangs but rather the opposite.

Awesome!!! Somebody get a clue, there is an abundance of criticism floating about everywhere we go every day of the week, every waking moment. Just thank your creator that you were not so fortunate to be born and raised somewhere like Chernobal where you could convulse from stomach pain as your eyeballs were melting out of your head due to excess radiation or something like that or Papau New Guinea where you too could be served up as the appetizer for the proceeding meal which of course would be you again! Swell, what a grand time. We could live, let's say in Rwanda (early to mid nineties) and experience mad-insane butchery just for fun because we just happened to be there. Perhaps the Stalin or Hitler era would be more to you liking? ***, ***, ***! So much bitching going on! Consider gratitude, just maybe... as you lounge at poolside with your Mai-Tai in hand spouting free speech and independant thinking! Beauty everwhere we look, but all we see is ugly.

As much as I am a Mustang guy, Kitt should have remained a firechicken. The KR looked wicked before they ruined it though.

The 'regular' KR is cool, pretty much what I'm going to turn my '05 GT into...

...but that 'speed' version is butt-ugly. Thankfully I saw this and decided not to go with black-chrome wheels, just black inside/chrome lip 18x9's. (The all chrome on the KR is cool, but I like a little color on my wheels too ;] .) The wing is also an eye-sore, the lower-wing is kinda, you know, RETARDED. And to go back to the wheels, 20"s are a bit big, even if that is standard for the KR. To me, 17" and below/ 19" and above make the tires look too big or too small... that is, of course, just my thinking, not really a knock on the KR/speedy Knight Rider.

Do I think the Mustang was the right car for the 'Knight Rider' show? Yes! Think about it... the 'Knight Rider' is supposed to be a standard, albeit sporty, car. The new Mustang has both, not to mention plenty of potential in upgrade options, so it really is the best car for the show.

Of course, Mustangs rule anyways! ;)

About mlinley

About mlinley: I guess you can say I was born in love with cars. As a kid the only toy I cared about were hot wheels. The only time I deviated from cars was during my BMX racing days. As soon as I turned 16 it was back to cars. My first car was a 78 Ford Fairmont (Futura). I actually started driving it when I was 14 but flipped it about six months after I got my license. Since then I have had to many to list. Here is a list of my favorite: 78 fairmont,73 laguna, 86 Mustang GT, 79 chevy truck, 91 Mustang GT, 94 Cobra, 02 Mustang GT. I currently drive a 2003 Ford F-150 . I have a beautiful wife and two awesome boys.
