Cars that Satan himself put the bad JuJu on

Share |

We've all had one.  You know, that car that just won't cooperate, run, leave, go away.  Some lucky few have had more than one (Scott!).  Lets hear your car horror stories & the outcome of the situation!  Mine was the calypso coupe.  Nothing ever went right, it kept requiring more money, took out my tooth, & found its way into a telephone pole.  By the time I sold the damn thing, I lost a fair amount of money.  Don't be shy, let the BS fly!

yeah, I've had a few.  Most memorable is a 72 F250 I bought one time.  Clean truck.  I thought it would be cool to have an older truck for a tow rig.  I paid a fair amount of money for it because it was so clean, but it needed brakes.  I put brakes on it (expensive because it had front disc, which was odd for that year), then set out to start driving it.  Carburetor went bad, then the motor - which I went to great pains to rebuild and restore - chrome factory valve covers, air cleaner lid, sandblasting, etc, then the trans went bad, then the trans again, then the heater core, radiator, carburetor again (followed by a small engine fire - which ruined all my underhood detail work - while traveling down I35 - NOT GOOD), death wobble (if you've experienced this, you know it's also not good), exhaust leaks, oil leaks, etc, etc.  Truck sat more than it ran.  Cost me THOUSANDS.  Tow truck guy said that he'd had the truck on a wrecker more times than he could count, because it caused the previous owner so many problems.  Finally sold it on ebay once everything had been gone through.  Hope the next owner had better luck than I did.....

The 2001 Teg has had its share of bad ju-ju.  It was almost the same day I decided I wanted to sell it, weird things started happening.  First off it was someone backed into the car.  Two weeks after getting that fixed a lady backed into it again. This time the car was in a parking lot all by itself with no other cars even close. How it happened I may never know.  Shortly after that it got a oil pan gasket leak that has been changed three times now... Everytime it starts to leak again it is because of something different.. bad gasket, bolt backed out, and last time i don't even know why.  Also I had a cup of red Kool-aid just start pouring out the bottom onto the light grey carpet. In the last month the battery went bad and had two tire blow outs!  I guess she just doesn't want to part from me.

1988 chevy 1500. My truck from high school turned into a nightmare I wouldnt wish upon anyone.  Bought it, 8,000 miles and exactly one year later the rings washed out and had to rebuild the engine. Exactly one year after that I had just finished putting on the all clear lights, side makers, park lights, and head lights. i hit a cow doing 75 mph! then 4 months in the body shop and $7k later I get it back. I get it on Friday, went to school on monday and someone backed into it in the parking lot, right into the fresh clear tailights that noone else had and the welded in roll pan. Another month in the body shop. two months later I back into a cinder block, three months after that I hit an armidillo with my freshly sectioned escalade front bumper. Rendering the bumper useless. 6 months later and after I replaced the taillgiht that you cant buy anymore, girfriend backs into it. Oh and inbetween all of this there is three busted driver windows from my door poppers randomly stop working. So I decide its a good idea to try and put bags on the truck. Thats when things really started to get bad. I dont ever want to see that truck again. i started to add up total loss on it, I Got mad and stopped at 20k.

My 1991 Mustang GT convertible. I bought it from my brother and they had problems before I got it. I thought it was just because my brother is not mechanically inclined. The car was super clean and well taken care of but something was always going wrong with it. It was a true lemon!!!

My wife had a 90 Cavalier .... that thing was possessed.  I was fixing it more than I drove it, I don't know why we kept it for 5 years.  I hated that car.  Made a good mechanic out of me though.  I could change an alternator in 5 minutes in that car.

My 97 F150 V6 with the infamous intake gasket problem, always loosing antifreeze.  then the stupid check engine light and I'm in an e-check area.  I put $1000's into it trying to make it go out.  And it ate brakes up like crazy - it had more brake jobs on it than tires.

I love my cars now - 05 F-150, 97 Orange Mustang GT, and a 98 Jeep Cherokee

1995 Chevrolet K1500 Z71

First it was the Alt. One Week After I Bought It

Next was the accident that busted the grill, bumper, hood and trans cooler, Nest was the Trans itself, then the rear end locked up and exploded the 3rd member (i have pics funny) which inturn snapped the aluminum driveshaft, next the right axle bearing, and another 3rd member, (now she has a auburn posi), then i snapped another aluminum driveshaft (now she has a Tom Wood's Custom Steel Driveshaft) and just two days ago i put the third Brand New Blower Motor In!! which three hours later, the Heater Controls went Completely out, I know theres more but it is a bunch of little dents and dings So now i have so much money and new parts in her that i can't get rid of her, maybe she will get a new Ford F-150 To Hang out in the Driveway With When she brakes down next time.
