Chad Kagy Diggs Our Chevy Truck Parts

Share |

For those of you not familiar with Chad Kagy, he is a professional BMX rider and X-Games gold medalist from Gilroy, California. One of my all-time favorites.

But biking isn't his only passion, in his spare time he also enjoys custom rides.

One of his latest projects is this half-ton C/K truck. After a hit and run incident Kagy decided it was time to give the old girl a face lift. With the help of Brett Oakes (president of the Severed Ties truck club) the truck received an awesome sonic blue paint job, 20's, and bags.

Realizing some restoration parts were in order they placed a call to C/Kresto for the following:

CTP-8200DK - Chrome Grill Kit w/ Clear Diamond Headlights
ACC-MBRC - Mass Back Carpet Kit
CTP-3530C - Shift Lever Boot
CTP-17676 - Outside Mirror Switch
CTP-20708KIT - Weatherstrip Kit
CTP-22820 - Door Wiring Boot

Once finished, the truck went on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas during SEMA.

From the get go I was excited to hear that Chad Kagy needed parts from us. He was one of my idols back when I was a BMX punk sporting pedal wounds to the bone!

I can remember watching him in the early days of the X-Games (wearing his patented rebel flag brain bucket!). Towards the end of his run he launched his bike to the top of a ~40 ft. box on the street course. Once he got up there he had 2 choices: Ease the bike down or bomb drop down 40 ft. to a 4 ft. vert transition. I watched in AWE as he fell to the crushing pavement and rode away. It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen! Just having the stones to do that, instantly made him one of my favorite BMX riders of all time.

About nate

My name is Nathan and I am a C# developer by trade. My favorite movies are A Clockwork Orange and Fight Club, my favorite TV shows are Arrested Development and The Office. I also enjoy motocross and supercross. I am happily married and have two little girls. I became an auto enthusiast at age 16 when I purchased a 1988 GMC C1500 long bed, it was two-tone blue and ugly as sin. But it had a 350 and I flogged on it regularly. It's been all down hill from there. My current project is an 89 Chevy C1500 short bed.
