Once again Ford has re-made the classic Bullitt Mustang. Just released to the press is the 2008 Mustang Bullitt. This Bullitt was originally made famous in the movie Bullitt staring Steve McQueen in 1968. A Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT 390 Fastback was used in the movie and became an icon of the Mustang history books.

The Bullitt was brought back to life in 2001 when Ford changed up a base GT model to the a little to give it a little more pep and a mean appearance on the streets. The 2001 Bullitt was brought out with a the same 4.6L but designed with a different intake manifold to improve airflow and give the car a little more power. Along with a little more power the 2001 was equipped with 13" Brembo brakes for a more stylish look and better performance. It retailed for about $3000 more than a baseline GT, But who could resist this..........

Well with the Bullitt Legacy from the past Ford couldn't hold out any longer to the desire of many people wondering if they were going to use the 2005-08 Mustang body to create another Bullitt. With the classic styling and new drivetrain, it was something that had to be done. Just released to the press recently is the 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt at the LA Motor Show. The base for the car is once again a stock GT with appearance and suspension modifications along with the new 4.6L 3 valve engine design. The new motor and overall design of the Mustang has allowed for an awesome performance car. The car will feature the 300HP 4.6L V8 and will feature the Ford Racing Power Pack for an extra 12HP. Also featuring beefed up brakes and suspension tweaks to make the car a true performance machine. They will be retailing for just over $31,000. Only around 7,000 will be produce for sale to the public so start saving those pennies, because this car is something you don't want to miss......
